Drink___________quarts of water per
day. This will help lower the salt load in your
body. Each time you pass urine you pass
a certain amount of salt.
No
caffeine. This means no coffee, tea, or
soda or any other food that contains caffeine.
Included in this is de-caf. There is no de-caf,
it all contains some caffeine and other harmful chemicals that raise your blood
pressure and affect your heart.
No
dairy. This includes milk, cheese,
yogurt, cottage cheese, ice cream, pizza, macaroni and cheese or any product
made from milk.
For two
weeks eat only raw food. That means
fruit and vegetables. You may eat any
fruit but if you want to lose weight none from the tropical family, like
banana, papaya, mango, and pineapple. Also no nuts or avocado.
The following
are some vegetables you might not of thought of.
Lettuce,
tomato, green beans, Jerusalem artichokes, onion, peas, snow peas, jimica, carrots, cabbage, bok choy, peppers, mushrooms, celery, cucumber, yam radish,
sprouts of any kind, bamboo shoots, endive, ginger root, greens of all kinds
(beet, collard, dandelion, mustard, kale, turnip, swiss
chard), parsley, pimiento, sauerkraut (fresh not canned), scallions, spinach,
turnip, water chestnut, watercress.
For
dressing you can use lemon juice and any type of vinegar. Blend a tomato and add spices for a dressing.
Now
after the two weeks you can start to steam any vegetable that you have been
eating raw. You can also add brown rice( the real kind-not uncle Ben’s) and either chicken or
fish which is baked only. You may eat
the meat 4 times during each week.
After
the second, two week period you now start to add one food each day. This should be a single entity food. You wouldn’t have a bowl of stew because it
has a lot of things in it. You need to keep
a food diary and track each food you eat and how it makes you feel. If you find a food that makes you feel bad
then put a star by it and come back in two weeks and try it again. We all have days that we don’t feel good and
you can’t blame everything on food.
The
reason for doing this is to find a diet that your body responds to in a
positive way. You will notice that while
you are on the raw diet your thinking will clear, you
will have more energy and in general feel better. This is the way you feel when you eat the
foods that are best suited for your body.
If you have hypertension or diabetes you need to discuss that with me
before you start the diet.
While on
this diet if you are a male you may lose between 10-18 lbs and if you are a
female between 8-14 lbs. If you don’t
want to lose weight then eat more of the tropical fruits and avocado. Under certain circumstances we will add
another high density carbohydrate to avoid weight loss.
